Hi gang!

I missed sending out mail last week, so there’s a lot of ground to cover this week. Beginning on Tuesday August 28 with the Cleveland Music Club Jam at Doc and Louie’s Bar & Grille, we had a blast as usual listening to all of the great music and hanging out. Thanks to pOUT’s Efrain Hernandez, John Kerver, Angelo Ciu, Bob Laeng, Hayden Frosti, Dave Deitke, TJ Plechaty, Ray Flanagan, Eric Potapenko and Jimmy Deamiches (with Five Finger Discount), Jay Smith, Frank Thomas, Larry Ketola, Dennis H. On Wednesday, Shady Drive was off to Wade Oval to back the Soul Men for the last Wade Oval Wednesday concert of the season. What a remarkable evening! It’s estimated there were upwards of 3,000 in attendance and it seemed like they were ALL up and dancing! Thanks to The Soul Men for asking us along! :c)

On Friday, Shady Drive was on the road to Mantua to appear at The Deck. Thanks to Jen and Rachel for stopping by to party with us! :c)

Before I knew it, it was Monday and time for Shady Drive to host the Lube Jam at the Sheffield Quaker Steak and Lube. We had a great time with Amber and Jimmy behind the bar and our jammers Jason Denney, Evan Denney, Clayton Higgins, Dale Bally, E.T. King, Dennis Raymond, Ken Hammer, Jeremy and Savannah Roeder!

Then it was Tuesday and time for another Cleveland Music Club Jam at Doc and Louie’s. On Friday, I was back at Doc and Louie’s with Shady Drive for our regular appearance there. It was great to see Marilyn, Pat, Charlie, Gene, Shelly, Joe, Lisa, Gary, Laura, Joe, Liz, Dawn and the rest of the Doc and Louie’s gang! We had a great time! :c)

Coming up this week, Tuesday marks another episode of the Cleveland Music Club Jam Night at Doc and Louie’s (24280 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted, 7pm – 11pm). This week is sponsored by Guitar Center of North Olmsted and our guest hosts are Drew Doman and Uncle Steve Smith. Doc’s 1/2 pound burgers are $4.95 (w/fries) and Margaritas are $3 until 9pm. There’s lost of parking at Doc’s in the front and back lost, at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts in the back lot and also their front lot after they’ve closed. It’s always a fun time so come join us!

This Friday, I’ll be joining my friends The King Bees at The Mad Cactus (9175 Pearl Rd., Strongsville, 9pm – 1am). Brant, Mike and the rest of the ‘Bees put on a great show and I’m honored to be sitting in with them for the evening. Hope to see you there!

On Saturday, I’m back with Shady Drive for our monthly appearance at the Fairview Tavern (21867 Lorain Rd., Fairview Park, 9:30pm – 1:30am). Come join us and the Tavern gang for some rockin’ blues, great food, cold beer and just a heck of a good time. :c)

On Wednesday, Shady Drive was on the road, appearing in Newbury at the Zeppe’s Tavern bike night. The weather was perfect and we had a great time partying with the Zeppe’s gang. Thursday night found me in the studio as Dana Clarke’s guest on “A Healthy Cleveland”. Dana and I talked quite a lot about the Cleveland Music Club concept, the jam night and also about the lifestyle/diet changes that Erika and I have recently undergone. In addition to the interview, fellow Cleveland Music Club members G.S. Harper and Kevin Fancher joined me in the studio (Thanks guys!) for a few acoustic tunes. It was a great experience and Dana and the crew were absolutely rockin’. We had a remarkably fun time. Thanks Dana for having us on the show!

On Friday, Shady Drive returned to the Parma Tavern to kick the weekend off with the Tavern crowd. Thanks to Marty, Mari, Chris, Wally, Chris, Daryl and Kathy for stopping by to party with us!

Coming up this week…

Tuesday brings another edition of the Cleveland Music Club Jam Night at Doc and Louie’s (24280 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted, 7pm – 11pm). This week’s guest hosts are Dwayne Dickman and Tony Camerato and the evening is sponsored by Forcefield Entertainment. Doc features his yummy burgers with fries for $4.95. Margaritas are $3 until 9pm. It’s the most fun you can have on a Tuesday night, so bring your instrument of choice and come jam with us! :c)

On Wednesday, Shady Drive will back up the Soul Men as they perform at Wade Oval Wednesdays (10820 East Boulevard, Cleveland, 6pm – 9pm). This show will wind up the year at Wade Oval. The Soul Men are ALWAYS a blast, so don’t miss this one!

Next, on Wednesday, Shady Drive returns to Zeppe’s Tavern & Pizzeria (11110 Kinsman Rd., Newbury, 7pm – 10pm) for their weekly Bike Night. This is our second time at Zeppe’s and if it’s half as much fun as the first, it’ll be off the hook! Their pizza and burgers are delicious, so come join us!

On Thursday at 8pm, tune in to AHealthyCleveland.com. I’ll be host Dana Clarke’s guest for the evening and Cleveland Music Club will perform some acoustic tunes. Should be fun! :c)

Then on Friday, Shady Drive heads back to the Parma Tavern (5680 Broadview Rd., Parma, 10pm – 2am) to rock the house! It’s been a while since we’ve appeared there, so we’re excited to see our old friends and make some new ones. The food is great and the beer is cold, so come on out and kick off your weekend with Shady Drive!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by! I had a day to catch my breath before I was back at Doc and Louie’s with Cactus Jack on Friday. The dance floor was full of boot scooters all night long as we played 3 sets of country hits. It was great to see Charlie and Pat, the Dancing Marilyns, Bridget, Larry, Joe, Liz, Amanda, Jason and everyone else who came out to join us. Next, it was time to head back to the Fairview Tavern with Shady Drive for a night of blues and rock. Thanks to Al, Denny, Sue and all of you who stopped by to party with us! We had a blast! Finally, Sunday found me on Kelley’s Island filling in with the Burnt River Band at The Casino. Gigging with Stan and Bill is always a great time and Sunday’s gig was no exception. Thanks to everyone who came out and to Stan and Bill for asking me along!

Coming up this week, tonight I’ll be back at Doc and Louie’s (24280 Lorain Rd., N. Olmsted, 7pm-11pm) with co-hosts Drew Doman and Uncle Steve Smith for another edition of the Cleveland Music Club Jam Night. Coming up this week, on Tuesday night the Cleveland Music Club will host a special “Horn Jam” at Doc and Louie’s (24280 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted, 7pm – 11pm). My co-hosts are Rob Hayes (Shady Drive), Kevin Fancher (Cactus Jack, Shady Drive) and the fabulous North Coast Horns! We’ll have over 25 charts available, so our horn playing friends can get their jam on! Don’t forget Doc’s 2 for 1 burgers and $3 margaritas! It’ll be a great night so stop on out!

Then on Saturday, Shady Drive is back in trio configuration and making our debut at 100th Bomb Group (20920 Brookpark Rd, Cleveland, 7pm -10pm). We’re out on the patio so come enjoy a Cleveland summer evening with great food, good friends and some of the best rock and blues around town!

Shady Drive will finish out the weekend on Sunday evening, appearing with the Soul Men at the Greenbriar Commons (6200 Pearl Rd., Parma Heights, 9pm – 11pm.) These guys are always a blast, so make plans to join us!

From there, we’ll hurry off to The Boneyard (Mayfield) (5900 Mayfield Rd., Mayfield Heights, 4pm – 5:30pm) to play the Bill O’Connor Memorial Poker Run which benefits the Police Athletic League. After that, we’re off to Seven Hills to appear with the Soul Men at Seven Hills Home Days (Seven Hills City Hall Grounds, 7325 Summitview Drive, Seven Hills, 7:30pm – 11pm). Anytime we’re on the stage with Jake and Elwood Soul is sure to be a blast, so don’t miss this one!

This past week was really hot in more ways than one! On Monday, Shady Drive hosted the Lube Jam at Quaker Steak and Lube in Sheffield. It was a gorgeous evening on the outdoor stage. On Tuesday I was back at Doc and Louie’s for the Cleveland Music Club jam night with co-hosts G.S. Harper and George Hartwig. My next stop was on Friday with Cactus Jack as we made our debut at 42Eighty Food and Drink in Brunswick. The place was jumpin’ all night long! Thanks a bunch to Amanda, Mark, Susan, Mike, Dawn, Bridget, Bob, Lorraine, Merlin, Sandy, Gary, Desiree, Suz, Guy, Jen, Diane and everyone else who came out. Thanks also to Jess and Morgan for keeping everyone hydrated! We’re out next at Doc and Louie’s on August 10. Don’t miss it!

Coming up this week, I’m with Drew Doman and Uncle Steve Smith on Tuesday for the Cleveland Music Club jam night at Doc and Louie’s (24280 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted, 7pm – 11pm). Burgers are 2 for 1 and margaritas are $3 until 9pm. Bring your favorite axe and come get your jam on with us!

On Wednesday, join Cleveland Music Club at the Fairview Tavern (21867 Lorain Rd., Fairview Park, 8pm – 11pm) as G.S. Harper, Kevin Fancher and I play your favorite rock, blues and country hits! The food’s fabulous, the beer’s cold, the service is great and the music is hot. Come join us and make it a special Wednesday night!

Coming up on Friday, Shady Drive returns to the Fairview Tavern (21867 Lorain Rd., Fairview Park, 9:30pm – 1:30am) for an evening of blues and rock the Shady Drive way. The Tavern has amazing food, cold beer and the service is second to none. Come out and party with us!

On Saturday, Shady Drive is playing a private function.

It’s time to wind up another week and kick off a new one. Last week’s Cleveland Music Club jam night was a bunch of fun with co-hosts Tony Camerato and Dwayne Dickman. Next, it was definitely an event when Shady Drive with Chris Hanna on keys paired up with the North Coast Horns at Harpo’s on Friday night. The dance floor saw a lot of action during the course of the evening and were even treated to a surprise visit by the Soul Men! Look for this to happen again at Harpo’s and at Doc and Louie’s this fall/winter season. Big thanks to Harpo’s for hosting the insanity and to the members of the Brothers Blues Band for stopping by after their appearance at the italian American Festival.

On Saturday, Shady Drive was back in trio configuration for an appearance at Frascati’s in the Valley. It was a gorgeous night out on the patio. Thanks to Patty and Bill, Mary and Bob, Jack and Roseanne and Larry for coming out to party with us!

Monday: Shady Drive will host the Lube Jam at Quaker Steak and Lube in Sheffield (4900 Transportation Dr, Sheffield Village, 7:30pm to 11pm). It’s always a fun time so come on out and jam with us!

Tuesday: I’ll be with G.S. Harper and George Hartwig as we host the Cleveland Music Club Jam at Doc and Louie’s (24280 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted, 7pm – 11pm).
