Hi gang!
It’s that time again! Last week was another warm one, but that didn’t stop our jammers from coming out on Tuesday night. Hotter than the temperature were the night’s fantastic musical talents starting with guest hosts G.S. Harper and Kevin Fancher, then continuing with the “One Hit Wonders (Danielle Barker, Eddie Tomecko, Tony Demko, Silas Barker,) Phil Barker, E.T. King, Bob Laeng, B.C., Skip Werke, John Kerver, Dave Lewicki, TJ Plechaty, Luke Pernici, Jay Smith, Alex Strekal, Hayden Frosti, Julian Gonzales, Dana Clarke, Louis Johnson, John Powell, Carol Dieball, Dan Elliott, Greg Kern, Mike Cottom, Derek Berger, Katyana Speckman and Jeff C.! You guys put out some great music! Thanks also to Doc’s music loving patrons including Lisa, Jim, Suzy, Gene, Darrin, Debbie, Pete, John, Jimmy, Jason, Scott, Jim, Amanda, and the ‘Dancing Marilyns’ for continuing to support local live music! Thanks to Sonor Drums for sponsoring the evening (Congrats to Alex, Katy and B.C. on their prize wins), to Dana Clarke and Guitar Center of North Olmsted for supplying coupons to all of our participants and we can’t forget to thank Tracy for her hard work keeping everyone fed and well hydrated and to Doc for giving us a place to plug in each week.
On to Friday night, when Shady Drive took the stage at Doc and Louie’s. The dance floor was full all night long as we partied with Charlie, Pat, the ‘Dancing Marilyns’, Joe, Liz, Shelley, Dave, Mike, Linda, Jared, and Dawn, among others. Thanks for coming out…we had a blast!
Next, Shady Drive headed east to Brecksville to play the Peppermill Pub and Grill. It was great to see Joe and Lisa again, and also Gina behind the bar keeping everyone’s glasses full. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to party with us! :c)
Coming up this week, Tuesday brings another Cleveland Music Club Jam Night at Doc and Louie’s (24280 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted, 7pm to 11pm) with guest hosts Dwayne Dickman and Tony Camerato. Doc’s delicious burgers are 2 for 1 and margaritas are $3 until 9pm! Sonor Drums is sponsoring the evening. Good friends, good music, good food and prizes make for a great time! All that’s missing is YOU! Come join us for the most fun you can have on a Tuesday night!
On Friday, Shady Drive will cruise back to The Mad Cactus (9175 Pearl Rd., Strongsville, 9pm – 1am) to party the night away with Teddy and the Cactus gang. This is always a great time with an awesome crowd, so c’mon out and be a part of the fun!
Saturday is a busy day for Shady Drive as we’ll start the day off at noon playing a private function. From there, we’ll hurry off to The Boneyard (Mayfield) (5900 Mayfield Rd., Mayfield Heights, 4pm – 5:30pm) to play the Bill O’Connor Memorial Poker Run which benefits the Police Athletic League. After that, we’re off to Seven Hills to appear with the Soul Men at Seven Hills Home Days (Seven Hills City Hall Grounds, 7325 Summitview Drive, Seven Hills, 7:30pm – 11pm). Anytime we’re on the stage with Jake and Elwood Soul is sure to be a blast, so don’t miss this one!
Mark your calendars for Tuesday, July 31 at 7pm, as the Cleveland Music Club Jam Night at Doc and Louie’s will host a special “Horn Jam” with co-hosts Rob Hayes (Shady Drive), Kevin Fancher (Shady Drive, Cactus Jack) and the amazing North Coast Horns! After the host band set, we’ll have over 25 charts for all of our horn players to jam along to. It’s gonna be GREAT!
