On Friday, Shady Drive played a private benefit for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. It was a really cool event and for a great cause! :c)

Last week was a very busy one! Friday’s Shady Drive gig at The Upper Deck was really a great time! Thanks to Jen, Sandy, Ken, Chris, Daryl, Amanda, Jason, Jeff, Andrew, Denny, Natalie, Laura, Glenn and certainly not least, the girls from Alpha Gamma who took time out from their scavenger hunt to party with us. We’re back there on May 31, so mark your calendars.

It was definitely party time Saturday night at 42 Eighty with Cleveland Music Club. The house was packed as Erin Rossi, Tony Koussa Jr., Chad May, Kevin Fancher and I provided the evening’s soundtrack. Thanks to Kathie, Melissa and Doug, Kathy, Pat, Wally, Barb, Kristin, Jim, George and everyone else who stopped by for making it a great night!

Sunday’s CMC Sunday Jam was a little light on attendance but certainly not on fun! Guest hosts Ed Sarley and Tony Camerato were onstage the entire evening with John Hamley, TJ Plechaty, Greg Kern, John Powell, Patricia Reiter, Tammy (vocals) and Mike Frate. I had the pleasure of hanging out with Mari, Marty, George, Tom, Kim, Char and the rest of the 42 Eighty gang. Thanks for making it a fun night!

I know I say this every month, but the food there really is amazing, the service is great and the drinks are delicious. If that isn’t enough, Rob, Kevin and I will be playing all of your favorite rock and blues tunes while you’re enjoying the Tavern’s hospitality. Come join us! It’s a great way to spend a Saturday evening!

Hi gang!

Another week has come to a close and supposedly it’s now spring, although you sure can’t tell by the weather. ;c) Anyway, we kicked the week off with a St. Patrick’s Day performance by Cleveland Music Club at Doc and Louie’s. G.S. Harper, Kevin Fancher and I played from 4pm to 9:30pm for a small but awesome group including Guy, Nancy, Chris, Daryl, Dave and Lorraine. It was fun!

Tuesday brought another edition of CMC Musicians’ Jam Night with guest hosts ‘Furious’ George Hartwig and Gary ‘G Rock’ Stulak (thanks guys!). Thanks to everyone who came out to jam or to hang out and listen, including Jay Smith, Bob Laeng, John Kerver, Jim D., Rob Hayes, Hayden Frosti, Greg Kern, Greg Lapsevich, Dan Elliott, Don Lydon, Greg B., Dave Klamut, Katyana Speckman, Don Nero, Stan, Jmy T., Lenna Pauley, Liz, Lisa, Steven, Derek, Vern, Faye, the Dancing Marilyns and the rest of Doc’s music loving patrons. Finally, big thanks to Doc and Sherry for workin’ hard keeping the plates and glasses full all night.

Friday marked Shady Drive’s return to Irish Kevin’s and a small but VERY enthusiastic crowd. It was great to see Paul, Greg, and the rest of the Kevin’s gang again!

Then on Saturday, Shady Drive joined up with the fabulous North Coast Horns (Al Widmer, Dave Frank and Darrin Clark) and keyboard wizard Chris Hanna for a sellout show at Doc and Louie’s. It was standing room only all night long as we cranked out tunes by Chicago, James Brown, the Blues Brothers, Wilson Pickett, Bruce Springsteen and more. Thanks to Lisa (Happy Birthday!), her Mom and Dad and hubby Joe, Chris, Daryl, John, Pattie, Pete, Amanda, Chris, Wally, Mari, Marty, Janet, Rick, Frank, Julie, Yvonne, Mary, Shane, Liz, Joe, Lisa, Dean, Shawn, Ron, Charlie, Pat, the Dancing Marilyns, Dave, Bob, Mary Beth and all the rest of the fantastic folks who came out and partied with us last night. There will be no CMC Sunday Jam on St. Patrick’s Day, but Cleveland Music Club will be rockin’ and rollin’ at Doc and Louie’s (24280 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted, 4pm – 8pm). G.S. Harper, Kevin Fancher and I will be wearin’ the green and playing all your favorites! C’mon out and party with us!

You guys were all awesome! Sassy’s has an awesome staff, great food and drink specials and the room sounds amazing! The regular crowd there are loads of fun, so you really should come out and join the party! :c)

On Saturday, Shady Drive returns to the fabulous Fairview Tavern (21867 Lorain Rd., Fairview Park, 9:30pm-1:30am) to rock the house. The food is out of this world (try the $10 strip steak special, the pizza or the chicken saltimbocca!), the drinks are delicious (check out the Third Shift Amber Lager) and the staff is super fast and friendly! Last week was loads of fun, beginning with the CMC Jam at Doc and Louie’s on Tuesday. Thanks to everyone who came out to enjoy their Fat Tuesday with us. We had a great group of musicians including: Jay Smith, Bob Laeng, Hayden Frosti, John Kerver, William Kiehn, Steve Raz, Ronald Bill, John Powell, Jim Luchesse, Mike Cottom, Greg Kern, Carl E. De Scott, JMY T., Bob Devries, Captain Bill, Mal Mapes and the band “Rebel Grindstone” (Andrew, Dave and Jeff) Thank you all for filling the night with music! We also had a spirited crowd of revelers including: Jimmy, Jason, Amanda, Katie, Lisa, Katyana, Ron, Steven, Sheri, Patty, Kyle, Uncle Peanuts, the danicing Marilyns and the rest of Doc’s music loving patrons. Thank you for coming out week after week to support live music.
