Hi gang!
What a week it’s been! Things started off at the Cleveland Music Club Jam on Tuesday with an outstanding host set by Mike Dixon and Tim Hamman (We missed you Becky!!). Then MORE musical acrobatics by jammers Bob Laeng, Doug on guitar, Louie Lively, David Koler, Jay Willis, Dan Elliott, Don Lydon, Greg Kern, Louis on bass, Vince Longo, Phil O., and ‘The Cottom Catz’ Mike Cottom, Mike Cottom and Chloe Cottom.) You guys were all awesome. Thank you! Thanks also to Suann, Steve, Gary, Derek, the Dancing Marilyns (and a bonus Marilyn) and the rest of the ‘Frog Faithful’ for hanging out with us. Finally, thanks to our sponsor Dirty Town Guitar and Amps and to the staff and management of Bullfrog’s Sports Cafe for all of their support… and…cupcakes! ;c)
Wednesday’s Shady Drive gig at The Grille was another awesome night on the patio! Thanks to everyone who came out. We’re back this week, weather permitting.
On Thursday, Cleveland Music Club traveled to Panini’s – Solon. Along with me were Brian Davidson and Bill Kraker. It was a blast! Thanks to the Panini’s gang for rockin’ the house with us and to their great staff!
Shady Drive teamed up with the North Coast Horns and Rick Matousek on keys (awesome job, Rick!) for Friday night’s performance at Brook Park Home Days. We had a great time playing for a very enthusiastic crowd that included John, Ted, Shelly, Gene and Sharon, to name a few. Many thanks to Mayor Tom Coyne for having us out, and to “IronMan” Mike Horvath for an amazing job on the sound board!
On Saturday night, Shady Drive and the North Coast Horns were at it again with the one and only Chris Hanna on keys, this time at the Fairview Park Summerfest! It was an absolutely remarkable evening with a super crowd (we saw Chris, Daryl, Erika, Keith and his gang, the Dancing Marilyns, Gabrielle, Stephan, Alexa and quite a few others!) Huge thanks to Judy Nicoloff and the Summerfest Committee for having us back and to the Fairview Park Service Dept. for a great job getting us and our gear to and from the stage!
Coming up this week…
The Cleveland Music Club – CMC Jam happens every Tuesday at Bullfrog’s Sports Cafe (33137 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville, 8:30 – 12:30). This week’s guest hosts are Rob “Shady” Hayes and Eroc Sosinski! Our sponsor each and every week is Dirty Town Guitar and Amps (15230 Madison Ave. Lakewood)! Full backline (two guitar amps, bass amp, SONOR DRUMS and PA) is provided, so bring your favorite axe, sticks or just your party attitude and dancin’ shoes and come join the fun!
On Wednesday, Shady Drive will appear at The Grille (1813 Pearl Rd., Brunswick, 7-10pm) which features an amazing patio, with food to match (their gyros are THE BEST!) and lots of frosty cold beverages! Justin Butcher will join us on bass, so come on out and let’s rock the house!
This Friday night, Shady Drive returns to Cleats – Marblehead (6801 E. Harbor Rd., Marblehead, 7:30pm – 10:30pm) to rock the house! The weather’s warm, the drinks are frosty and it’s time to party! Come join us!
Saturday will find Slim N’ Shady at Gandalf’s Pub (6757 Center Rd., Valley City, 8pm-11pm). Gandalf’s has a great Irish-American menu (amazing boxties!!), a great selection of beers and all of your favorite wines and mixed drinks. If weather permits, we’ll be out on the patio, so come join us on a Saturday night!
That’s it for this week. We’ll talk soon…
