Hi gang!

CMC lost one of our regular jam family last week with the passing of drummer, Tom King. He was with us back in our Doc and Louie’s days and followed us when we moved back to ‘The Frog.’ He was almost always the first one there and one of the last to leave. You could tell he loved music, and (like me) Sonor drums. Hope you were jamming on Tuesday night, Tom! This week’s jam was much more enjoyable than the rides to and fro. Thank you to everyone who braved the icy roads to ensure that the show went on, including our hosts Drew Doman and Tim Hamman; our jam crew: Dale Bally, John Kerver, Bob Laeng, Bernie Hall, Mike Cottom, Nate Mysza, Frank, Mike, Mark Trigalet, Jmy T., and Robert A. DeVries and our cheering section: Tricia, Mary Beth, Mary, Paula, Ken, the Dancing Marilyns and the rest of the ‘Frog Faithful.’ Thank you Dirty Town Guitar and Amps and Bullfrog’s Sports Cafe for giving us an opportunity to hang out with awesome people each week.

Shady Drive shows at Aces Grille and Fairview Tavern were a great time! Thanks to Sandy, Ken, Matt, Gerald and everyone else who came out this past weekend despite the weather!

Shady Drive is off this week, but we have some great news!!

Blues Music Fan Radio has just published their Top 20 Blues CDs of 2015 and Shady Drive’s “Darker Shade Of Blue” came in at #3!! All of us in Shady Drive would like to thank everyone at Blues Music Fan Radio for their support and kind words! We also owe all of YOU a debt of thanks for the unwavering support you’ve shown for us and our music over the past 10 years! Their comments regarding our CD are below, but you can view the entire list at www.bluesmusicfan.com

[#3 ] – DARKER SHADE OF BLUE – SHADY DRIVE

Who?

OK we know that question is going to be asked a lot. This Cleveland trio proves that Cleveland really does rock … the blues! The album is full of blues originals, and one audacious cover of “Folsom Prison Blues”. Independently produced and a cut above the others, our own DJ Siani (in New Zealand!) stumbled across this album from an Ohio band, and told the rest of us about it – and we were pretty much all hooked and big fans – and we want more!

Chris Allen: These guys are the definition of a working man’s blues band. A rocking self-owned sound and true passion for what they do.

That’s all for this week. We’ll talk soon…
