Hi gang!

Another week has come to a close and supposedly it’s now spring, although you sure can’t tell by the weather. ;c) Anyway, we kicked the week off with a St. Patrick’s Day performance by Cleveland Music Club at Doc and Louie’s. G.S. Harper, Kevin Fancher and I played from 4pm to 9:30pm for a small but awesome group including Guy, Nancy, Chris, Daryl, Dave and Lorraine. It was fun!

Tuesday brought another edition of CMC Musicians’ Jam Night with guest hosts ‘Furious’ George Hartwig and Gary ‘G Rock’ Stulak (thanks guys!). Thanks to everyone who came out to jam or to hang out and listen, including Jay Smith, Bob Laeng, John Kerver, Jim D., Rob Hayes, Hayden Frosti, Greg Kern, Greg Lapsevich, Dan Elliott, Don Lydon, Greg B., Dave Klamut, Katyana Speckman, Don Nero, Stan, Jmy T., Lenna Pauley, Liz, Lisa, Steven, Derek, Vern, Faye, the Dancing Marilyns and the rest of Doc’s music loving patrons. Finally, big thanks to Doc and Sherry for workin’ hard keeping the plates and glasses full all night.

Friday marked Shady Drive’s return to Irish Kevin’s and a small but VERY enthusiastic crowd. It was great to see Paul, Greg, and the rest of the Kevin’s gang again!

Then on Saturday, Shady Drive joined up with the fabulous North Coast Horns (Al Widmer, Dave Frank and Darrin Clark) and keyboard wizard Chris Hanna for a sellout show at Doc and Louie’s. It was standing room only all night long as we cranked out tunes by Chicago, James Brown, the Blues Brothers, Wilson Pickett, Bruce Springsteen and more. Thanks to Lisa (Happy Birthday!), her Mom and Dad and hubby Joe, Chris, Daryl, John, Pattie, Pete, Amanda, Chris, Wally, Mari, Marty, Janet, Rick, Frank, Julie, Yvonne, Mary, Shane, Liz, Joe, Lisa, Dean, Shawn, Ron, Charlie, Pat, the Dancing Marilyns, Dave, Bob, Mary Beth and all the rest of the fantastic folks who came out and partied with us last night. Apologies to anyone I missed. It was one wild and crazy night! ;c)

Coming up this week…

Tonight’s CMC Sunday Jam at 42 Eighty Food and Drink (4280 Shenandoah Pkwy., Brunswick, 7pm – 11pm) features guest hosts Becky Boyd, Michael Bay and Kevin Fancher, Dirty Town Guitar and Amps sponsoring, Emily behind the bar and Vern manning the kitchen. The food is awesome (40 cent wings and the most awesome homemade kettle chips w/ dip!), the beer is cold ($4 pitchers of domestic beer and happy hour prices until 9pm!) and full backline (two guitar amps, bass amp, Sonor drums, Alesis QS 6 keyboard and PA) is provided, so bring your favorite axe or sticks and come jam with us!

On Tuesday, join us at Doc and Louie’s (24280 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted, 7pm – 11pm) for the weekly CMC Musicians’ Jam Night. Guest hosts this week are Joe Brunetti and Eroc Sosinski. As always, Doc’s amazing burgers are $4.95 (w/fries) all night and margaritas are $3 until 9pm. There’s plenty of parking in Doc’s front and back lots, O’Reilly’s back lot and their front lot after they close at 9pm. Full backline (two guitar amps, bass amp, Sonor drums, Alesis QS6 keyboard and PA) is provided, so bring your favorite axe, sticks or just your party attitude and dancing shoes and come join the fun!

Wednesday brings another Cleveland Music Club appearance at the Fairview Tavern (21867 Lorain Rd., Fairview Park, 8pm – 11pm). This week I’m joined by ‘Furious’ George Hartwig and Kevin Fancher. Come out and party with us while we play your favorites!

Shady Drive is off this weekend, but I’ll be out and about catching some live music in the area. Hope to see you!

That’s all for this week. We’ll talk soon…

Mike :c)
