Hi gang!
What a great week! All kinds of musical happenings, and we can finally see the grass again! Things started off early on Monday morning when we learned that Shady Drive had been voted as a finalist in the Cleveland Hot List! We’re very proud of our 4th place finish and want to thank all of you for voting for us! What a great way to start the week!
On Tuesday, it was off to the CMC Jam night at Bullfrog’s with guest hosts G.S. Harper and Tim Hamman, jammers John Kerver, Skip Werke, Bob Laeng, Joey Samide, Greg McGill, Greg Kern, Tom King, Don Lydon, Paul Franks, Ron ‘Papa J’ Jackson, Bob DeVries, Jmy T, Dan Hearns, John Yonkey, Jimmy Deamiches, Jason Neitenbach, Amanda Baher, and Dan Haller. On to Thursday night, when G.S. Harper, Kevin Fancher and I took Cleveland Music Club down to the Vintage 51 Bar at Horseshoe Casino. There was much fun, merriment and dancing all night long! Thanks to the awesome Erin Rossi for making this happen and to the staff at the Horseshoe for making it a great time!
On Saturday, Shady Drive played to a full house at 42 Eighty Food and Drink until almost 2am! Thanks to Chris, Daryl, Louise, John, Beth, Laura, Gary, Merle, Sandy, Ken, Celeste, John, Scotty, Chuck and all the 42 Eighty gang! Together we rocked the house!
Coming up this week…
Shady Drive will be spending time in the studio tonight, tomorrow and Tuesday laying down the last of the tracks for our upcoming CD. We’re very excited about the recording and hope to have it ready for a mid-summer release.
The Cleveland Music Club – CMC Jam happens every Tuesday at Bullfrog’s Sports Cafe (33137 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville, 8:30 – 12:30) This week’s guest hosts are G.S. Harper and Tim Hamman. Our sponsor each week is Dirty Town Guitar and Amps. Full backline (two guitar amps, bass amp, Sonor drums and PA) is provided, so bring your favorite axe, sticks or just your party attitude and dancin’ shoes and come join the fun!
Cleveland Music Club and Bullfrog’s are teaming up to give away a pair of tickets to see “Wish You Were Here” at the House of Blues on May 16. During the month of April, every jammer at our Tuesday jam will get one entry in the drawing on each night they participate in the jam. If you participate every Tuesday in April, you’ll have 5 entries. On April 29, guest host Eroc Sosinski of Wish You Were Here will draw the winning entry! How cool is that?!?!?
On Friday Shady Drive will slide into The Upper Deck (375 W. Bagley Rd., Berea, 9pm – 1am) for our monthly appearance there. Great food, great service and a very comfy room with plenty of parking are the order of the day at Upper Deck. C’mon out and party with us this Friday night!
This Saturday night Shady Drive heads back to the fabulous Fairview Tavern (21867 Lorain Rd., Fairview Park, 9:30pm – 1:30am) for our monthly appearance there. Come party with us and enjoy one of the Tavern’s delicious dishes (try the $10 strip steak special!) and some frosty cold beverages while we play your favorite classic rock and blues tunes!
