Hi gang!

Sorry I’m a day late with this! We had a great week starting with the Cleveland Music Club jam night at Doc and Louie’s on Tuesday night. Along with my co-hosts Dwayne Dickman and Kevin Fancher, the drummers and vocalists were out in force as Erin Rossi, Adelle Marie, Sheila Petro, Jerry Colosimo and Kaylee Cottom all rocked the vocals and behind the kit were John Powell, Dan Elliott, Charlie Simms, Carol Dieball, Greg Kern, Mike Cottom, Marc Alu, Carl E. De Scott and “Mr. Blue Man”. Honorable mention on drums goes to Rick Hong who had to head home early. Jamming on the guitars were Hayden Frosti, Bob Laeng, Jay Smith, Mike Cottom Jr., Ken Porter, Luke Pernici and Drew Oxley. Honorable mention on guitar goes to John Kerver who decided he’d rather just hang out. Providing the bottom end were Chloe Cottom, Jay Smith, Blake Kniola and Rob Hill. Thanks to Jim, Scott, Pam, Brian, Debbie, Tammy, Nancy, Marty, Mari, Ro, Steve, Vern and Doc’s music loving patrons for hanging out, Dana Clarke and Guitar Center of N. Olmsted for sponsoring the night’s fun. Congrats to our prize winners Jay Smith (tuner), John Powell (drum sticks), Carol Dieball (drum sticks), and Ken Powell (guitar strings). Thanks to The Amazing Kristen for keeping our plates and glasses full and to Doc for puttin’ a roof over our heads and juice in the outlets!

Next, Shady Drive rolled into our debut performance at Durty Nellie’s on Saturday. What a great crowd and venue! The staff and owners at Durty Nellie’s were just amazing, as were their clientele! Thanks all for a great time! thanks also to Lisa, Joe and their gang, Mary and Blake for coming out and making it a great night!

Coming up this week, Brian Davidson and Bill March join me onstage this Tuesday to co-host the Cleveland Music Club Jam Night at Doc and Louie’s (24280 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted, 7pm – 11pm). Bring your axe and get your jam on with us while feasting on Doc’s 2 for 1 burgers and a $3 margarita! Always a fun time!

Shady Drive is off this weekend, but don’t let that stop YOU from going out to support live music in Cleveland! There are plenty of great bands and artists playing this weekend, so get on down to your local venue and check some of them out. For example, this Friday you can catch Jim and Eroc’s Classic Rock Duo at Irish Kevin’s (13601 Detroit Ave., Lakewood, 9pm – Midnight) and on Saturday, The G.S. Harper Trio performs at The Screaming Rooster (15527 Madison Ave., Lakewood, 9:30pm – 1:30am) :c)

That’s all for this week. We’ll talk soon…

Mike :c)
